Blur Bar is a two-storey gay dance club in Houston’s Montrose gayborhood, just around the corner from South Beach and JR’s. Downstairs, the dance floor gets packed to hip-hop, Top 40, and Latin hits, with dancers taking to the poles as the night heats up. Booths around the room give you somewhere to catch your breath, while upstairs has a lounge and balcony overlooking Pacific Street.

Wednesdays bring no cover and drink specials all night. The club welcomes anyone aged 18 and over.

Neon Boots Dancehall and Saloon is Houston's premier LGBTQ+ country western venue. Housed in the historic building that once was the legendary Esquire Ballroom (where stars like Willie Nelson and Patsy Cline performed), this 10,000-square-foot establishment features a massive wooden dance floor perfect for two-stepping and line dancing, multiple bars serving ice-cold beers and creative cocktails, and live country music performances.

A Latin gay club with fabulous drag queens, salsa dancing, and an uber-friendly crowd? Don’t mind if we do. Crystal has been serving Houston’s LGBTQ+ Latin community since 1989, making it one of the city’s original Latin gay clubs.

The Bellaire venue keeps the music-video screens rolling while the dance floor gets busy with salsa and other Latin sounds. It’s a long way from Montrose, but that’s part of the charm. This is a local favourite that rewards the trip. Bring cash: entry is $10 and parking is another $10.
