Houston Lesbian Bars

Welcome to Queertopia. Pearl Bar Houston is the world’s largest lesbian bar, and its 1.25-acre Washington Avenue venue is certainly big enough to live up to the billing. Founded by Julie Mabry in 2013, Pearl has grown into a sprawling LGBTQ+ destination with huge outdoor spaces, a multipurpose event area, games, TVs, DJs and live music.

Weekly programming includes Queen Karaoke and club nights. The full kitchen and food truck options keep the party fuelled. The outdoor area is particularly impressive, and things really start picking up around midnight.

LesbianLand is a queer media brand and event organiser creating content and real-life experiences for women and nonbinary people who love women. Alongside digital stories and video series, they host sapphic events across Houston, including dinners, rooftop parties, game nights, and fitness meetups.

Its best-known events include Lezzies on the Lawn, with activities like picnics, yoga, and Pilates, and Sapphlix, a themed WLW movie night series with watch parties for sapphic films, Black queer cinema, and more.

SidePeace is a women’s sports bar and event space in Houston located next door to the legendary lesbian bar Pearl Bar. The venue screens women’s sports and hosts regular events throughout the week, including DJ nights, steak nights, drag bingo, and karaoke.
